Abouttheartist

hi there, welcome to my about the Artist page. I am
Cheryl Mills of Ravenmoon Designz. I am a proud mother
of two and pursuing my passion of artistic expression
through Handmade Dolls and other specialty items. I
have always loved art and have drawn and sewn since i
was a child. It wasn't until about 5 years ago that I came
upon One-Of-A-Kind Barbies on e-bay while looking for
more barbies for my personal collection. I discovered a
unique outlet for the little artist inside of me. I
absolutely love dolls, not just barbies but all kinds of
dolls, vintage and modern. I dabbled in OOak Barbies and
sold them on e-bay, then I became pregnant with my second
child and my eye sight during my pregnancy was not good,
I could not read book, use the computer or do any close
up work. Bummer!!! Then after that now busy with two
small kiddo's and helping my last 3 grandparents, whom i
was very close to, one by one die of Cancer in a 4 year
span, kept me more than occupied. Now, however my
youngest is in pre-school this year and I am finding more
time to put all my design ideas I have had in my head for
the past few years into tangible items.

My Grandmother Mary, who was my Best Friend, My
Mother and Grandmother all in one, was the last one I
had to let go of. She was very excited for me to start
pursuing my dreams of making dolls for a business. So
now in her memory I am doing just that.

I hope that you enjoy my creations as much as I love
creating them.

My wonderful husband is very supportive of my designing
and has even built me my own workshop in our backyard
where all my dreams come to life. My kids are very
supportive as well, My daughter loves each of my dolls
so much she want to keep them all. He He!! My son keeps
saying make more, make more Mom. I am truely blessed!!!

I have very eclectic tastes. I love the Victorian era,
Medieval times, fairies, angels, gothic and
retro/nostalgic. Which are all reflected in my work.
